Here are three testimonies of healing relating to a church in Medjugorje, Bosnia. This is a heavenly place like Lourds, France, or Knock, Ireland, were people have seen the Blessed Virgin Mary appear. For 22 years Veronica had been completely blind because her retinas were damaged. One night in August 1998, whilst in pain, she began to pray. All of a sudden she saw Jesus standing before her beckoning to her with his arms outstretched. During the vision, she saw a village in great detail, then a mountain with a big cross on top and the village church with two steeples. "I said to Jesus, 'I don't know where this place is' Jesus looked at me, smiled and said, 'Medjugorje!' " In the morning she told her husband, Alex, everything that she had seen and that Jesus called the place Medjugorje. Neither of them had heard of this place as they lived in South Africa, but a few days later they met a friend who had just returned from a pilgrimage to Medjugorje! He was not merely able to tell them how to get there, but also able to confirm all the details in Veronica's vision. Naturally it was with a great sense of expectation that they too made plans to go to Medjugorje. As they arrived there, Veronica, being blind, was unable to see whether it looked like what she had seen in her vision, but for Alex it was uncanny. All the details were exactly as Veronica had described them. When they went to hear Vicka speak, (One of the children who had seen the vision of the Blessed Virgin - now an adult woman) there were so many pilgrims that Alex and Veronica were squashed at the back of the group. But as Vicka talked, Alex noticed that she was gazing at Veronica. Alex told her: "She is looking at you!" Then Veronica heard, "she's waving at you! She's smiling at you!" When Vicka had finished speaking, Alex said, "She's coming down and walking toward you! She's right in front of you!" Then Vicka placed her hand over Veronica's eyes and prayed. When Vicka removed her hand, Veronica could see! Leaping for joy and dancing in the street, Veronica cried out in thanksgiving! She, who was blind, could see! To this day she is filled with a tremendous sense of awe at how God has touched her life, and desires to bring to others something of the joy she now experiences.
